A sweet, aromatic liqueur, the Beltion Amaretto has notes of fresh marzipan, cocoa and milk chocolate with hints of vanilla and manuka honey. Nicely balanced at the finish by drying spices, with cinnamon, vanilla and almond continuing into the lengthy aftertaste. Amaretto is often used in coffee and cocktails, but is also great for a relaxing sip at home.
The Beltion brand was born after WWII when Giacomo Gianandrea began selling almond milk, with the name (and the milk) soon gaining popularity throughout Southern Italy. In 1995, his children set up a modern operation to extend the brand into a wider range of cordials and spirits from the classic Italian repertoire. The recipe for the Beltion Amaretto, for example, dates back to the Italian Renaissance.
