It all began in the back of a van—an inauspicious start, you might say, except that van was on a leisurely journey around the back roads of Italy.

How could we not fall in love with the amazing tradition of service and quality surrounding the most humble items of food that characterises daily life in the Mediterranean?

We brought back to New Zealand the dream of developing long-lasting relationships with cafés, restaurants, retailers and supermarkets throughout the South Island who shared our passion for excellence and love for Mediterranean food traditions.

After 11 years of learning the ropes in the food distribution industry as North Canterbury Distributors, our dream was realized when we took on Mediterranean Foods Wholesale in 2014.

Today, sourcing cheese and charcuterie, oils and vinegars, antipasti, gelati, wines and so much more to meet the needs and feed the passions of our talented and inspiring customers, every day is a Mediterranean adventure again. Come join us—we know you’ll enjoy the ride.
