Grana Padano Parmesan is made entirely from skimmed milk and only needs to age nine months, resulting in a milder and softer cheese than ‘older brother’ Parmigiano Reggiano. It can also be made all year round. Due to the cheaper price afforded by the simpler production rules, Grana is more of an everyday parmesan than Reggiano, while still offering excellent flavour and texture.
